The reason it all matters

And finally, it reaches every citizen.

When every agency, business, nonprofit, veterans group, and congregation publishes in one verified place, the person who benefits is the resident who opens the platform and finds real, current, trusted local information, in one place where the source is always known.

Anyone can look. Anyone eligible can claim a verified profile and publish. Verified means the source and identity are accountable, not that every statement is guaranteed true.

Through the Virtual Key for Indiana, nearly 6.97 million residents become eligible for verified civic access. Potential eligibility, not a count of people served.

How this footprint is measured

  • What the numbers mean. Every figure is potential verified-access reach: the population of the jurisdictions where this honor activates a Virtual Key. It describes how many people become eligible to access verified civic publishing, not a count of people served or impacted.
  • Where the figures come from. Population figures are approximate public estimates. Indiana is roughly 6.97 million residents (2025). Indianapolis is roughly 892,000. Legacy hometown and sister-city figures are rounded public estimates shown to convey scale.
  • Organizations are real and confirmed. The eighteen organizations shown are Mary’s actual affiliations, as recognized in her Letter of Honor. Each is independently governed and controls its own listing.
  • Eligibility is voluntary. Activation opens the door. Every agency, business, nonprofit, and resident chooses whether to claim a verified profile. Verified means the source and identity are accountable, not that every statement is guaranteed true.
  • The horizon is vision, not status. The full-program figure of roughly 340 million reflects the goal of honoring one Hero in every state. It is clearly a forward vision and is not counted in Mary’s current honor reach.

CityByApp™ is live for verified listings and publishing. ByApp™ is in development. HeroByApp™ is the recognition and activation program.

“You did not simply receive this honor. You set the example for every Hero who follows.”
